We ask that you join us in a special prayer request for the Purple Palace. So many of you experienced changed lives as you participated in one way or another in the building of the Purple Palace, an orphanage directed by Tyler & Connie Youngkins in Tijuana, Mexico.
Connie and Tyler, have recently learned of an issue that they are requesting we take to the Lord in prayer. Several weeks ago, they were approached by an attorney representing the new owners of the property on which the orphanage is located. They were informed that the owners no longer intended to honor their signed lease and were requesting them to vacate the premises "as soon as possible".
There were no other ultimatums or paperwork served with the statement, and the board of the Purple Palace have consulted with a Mexican attorney who indicated the signed lease is legal and binding and would remain in effect. Connie and Tyler have no intentions of vacating the property and remain steadfast that God has these children exactly where He wants them. However, this news still has both the staff and children of the Purple Palace asking for your prayers of support. Please be praying for God's will, His strength, His love, and His comfort continues to be at the heart of the situation.
This ministry is your ministry and we are each blessed by eachother while serving hand in hand. We trust as you read about the different ways God is leading and inviting you to serve that you will respond with a "Yes Lord, Use me" and join us! In Christ, Jim Kirk-Johnson Strong Tower Ministries |

| A Testimonial from the DOF Fundraising Event |
 |
Thanks to Danniele for being so brave to mention the idea of doing a garage sale fundraiser for the Door o Faith (which automatically put her in charge of the event, we all know how that works!!!), we raised $975 by selling all sorts of donated items during the first Dove Canyon Community Garage Sale this past Saturday.
Once the idea was published in the Strong Tower Ministries email newsletter, we brought it to our small group of 10 easily motivated ladies. Our connections to the Penny Saver earned us free advertising and signage; we printed out flyer and made a poster board. On Friday afternoon we began to collect, sort, organize and price everything that was being delivered to my house. We had couches and other furniture, bikes, scooters, toys, clothing, kitchen ware and items that the "Antique Road Show" would have been jealous of. We made our first sale before we ever finished getting things out of the boxes and bags. That was a good sign.
By Saturday morning (before the sun came up) we were back outside ready to let God bless this event and with that, the continuation of the Door of Faith nursery building project. We did not only have fun bargaining with people, but we were blessed with some amazing opportunities to share about our ministry and as a small group to spend time together serving our Lord!
By 2pm we were exhausted from two days worth the hard work, but filled with the Holy Spirit and grateful for God for having trusted us with this opportunity to serve the children of the orphanage and to blessing us in return 1000 times over! And all that without ever leaving the neighborhood!
Thank you to all who got involved by donating, delivering, helping, buying (J) and praying!

| Christmas Caravan 2008 |
It's time for our almost annual "Christmas Caravan" to kick off. We are accepting donations of school supplies, new children's clothing, new toys, and looking for volunteers to make Christmas stockings. If anyone would like more information or have some things to donate, please contact Tracey at Traceyquest@yahoo.com or by calling 949-842-3655. It's a wonderfully simple way to make a lasting difference in a child's life. The donated items will be distributed to children living both locally in Santa Ana and Mexico. |

Highights Of the Hearing Evefrett Benefit Screenings
|
|
Both the Simi Valley and San Clemente benefit screenings of Hearing Everett were a huge success, thanks to the almost 450 folks that attended! The nights were spent praising God for giving 300 plus volunteers (who contributed over 12,000 hours) and donors representing over 30 churches, the opportunity to be a part of this remarkable life changing film project.
After the showings, some of the cast and crew were on hand to answer questions about the making of the film and its intended use as a mobilization tool for churches across America to move people from observers into participants, serving both locally and abroad.
We want to also extend special thanks for all the members of the deaf community who attended the Simi Valley event and for their overwhelming support of the project. We look forward to how God is going to use this project to effect change in both the lives of the hearing and deaf communities.
Below are a couple comments from those who attended the benefit.
"Hearing Everett: The Rancho Sordo Mudo Story" is a moving and powerful film! I cried, laughed... and by the end, longed to be used more by God! I was touched by the faithfulness of this family and the huge God that has carried them through tragedies, tests, and triumphs. I left "Hearing Everette" asking God to open my ears and heart so that I would never miss His voice "calling" me to step out and follow Him wherever and however He may lead me!

The Rancho Sordo Mudo Project
On October 10th, we will be having an invitation only screening of Hearing Everett at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank CA.
If you are interested in having one of your pastors, someone from the missions or film department at your college, or someone that you know who is involved in other areas of ministry outreach view the film, please contact Jim at jim@strongtowerministries.info.
We anticipate having both the film and small group series available in November and already have churches scheduling upcoming dates for premiering the film and starting the small group curriculums.
Soon, the Hearing Everett website will be posting all the information needed to order the film and study guide online, or to arrange a special screening at your church.

Rwanda-Shyogwe Project "Building a girls dorm"
Joe and Richard are looking for volunteers who would be willing to step up and help plan a special fundraising gala in February before Valentine's Day. Plans are also being made for a "spring trip" to the school for a special "ground breaking" dedication ceremony of the girl's dormitory. The proceeds of the benefit would go directly to the building project. Please contact Richard at RichardC@richardcohenlandscape.com if you are interested in getting involved with the project or being a part of the spring serving trip.
