Thanks to the generosity of all those who attended the October fundraising events,  provided and purchased items for the silent auction and garage sale, and the countless folks that made the events possible, the two day fundraiser raised over 10,000 dollars toward the completion of the Door of Faith Nursery Construction Project.

Using your gifts and talents for
Your Ministry...

Out of the Boat Ministry1

.......Literally
Michelle Ericson graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in History and a Minor in Latin America Studies in 2009.  She has studied history with the belief that you can't help people until you understand the situation in which they live and function. Michelle has been a Lifeguard for the City of San Diego Beaches since 2005, has been a swim instructor since 2002, and has been surfing since 2003.  She owes her water skill abilities to her granparents who supported her through High School to play water polo.  As you may gather, Michelle has a gift and passion for the water, but how does that translate into a ministry?
Since 2004, Michelle has volunteered off and on at the Purple Palace (now Ninos de la Promesa) There, she began utilizing her gifts by educating and assisting kids to become passionate and confident through the water.  She hopes to spread this vision throughout Latin America and beyond. As we pass through the Thanksgiving holiday and move on toward the celebration of Christmas and year's end, we pause to give thanks for the many blessings God has given us being thankful in all things and for the ultimate gift of His Son - a gift that we have the opportunity to model every day to someone else.

We wish to thank and honor each of you that have made the decision to put someone else above yourself this year by either packing or handing out food to the hungry, building a home for the fatherless or homeless, praying for those in need, or participating in the many other STM opportunities to donate your time, talents, and treasures toward building His Kingdom. We sincerely look forward to serving Him, you, and the children and families God leads us to in the new year.

May God continue to richly bless you and your family,

The Kids from the Purple Palace Have a New Home
Ninos de la Promesa, Tijuana

It's official!! Connie and Tyler Youngkin, administrators of the Purple Palace orphanage, have moved their children from the downtown streets of Zona Norte to the Las Playas area of Tijuana. Their new home was once a 27,000 sq foot hotel that had been vacant, and the owner has agreed to a seven year lease at the current rent they had been paying at the Purple Palace. Tyler and Connie were told earlier this year that the Purple palace property had been purchased by the Mexican government and that their upcoming 2010 lease was not going to be renewed. But God provided......and in a little over one week's time, a lease was signed at the new location, the kids were packed, the Purple Palace was gutted, and kids and belongings were transported to their new home - Ninos de la Promesa, Tijuana.

Although leaving the Purple Palace wasn't planned, expected, or desired, Connie and Tyler realize that the children entrusted in their care are far more important than the building they occupy. Ninos de la Promisa KidsThe Youngkins and staff will continue their mission of rescuing children from the streets of Zona Norte, and plan to continue operating their second home for boys in the downtown area. Their  prayers are that in seven years the next move will be to  a permanant home that can be built on land they own. We invite you to see for yourself the kids' new home, maybe lend a hand with some things that need to be done around the place, or maybe just fly a kite with some of the kids on the beach. For more information on directions and needs list, contact Ninos de la Promesa at tycon_mx@yahoo.com .

We're Closing in.....

Tile is being laid, landscaping is going in, light fixtures are going up,,,,,,,,were getting mighty close....BUT..... We still need some help in getting this project finished!! If you would like to take some of your holiday time with your family, small group, or work buddies and spend it blessing others, then come on down! We still need folks that can install tile, finish carpenters to build and install cabinets, hang doors/build door jambs, and painters. Make it a 1-3 day, weekday or weekend trip. Door of Faith offers overnight accommodations and some of the best Mexican food around, so what are you waiting for?

Local Teens Making a Local and Global Impact
HSM Packing

On November 21st and 22nd, over 1,000 High School students from Saddleback Church, Lake Forest CA gathered together to make a difference. The weekend benchmarked a three week campaign entitled "DO SOMETHING". One of our ministry partners GAIN (Global Aid Network) donated thousands of pounds of food items ranging from flour and canned goods, to vegetable and flower seeds. In addition, the youth collected donated clothing and shoes. Over the weekend over 100,000 servings of food were packaged, labeled, and sorted. Pallets of clothing and shoes were sorted and boxed. The items will be distributed through Saddleback's food pantry, local ministries in Santa Ana, and global ministries in Mexico and Africa. Thousands of lives will be impacted through one weekend of kids deciding to make a difference. As adults, there is a lesson to be learned in that..
