Don't
forget to join us on March 7th and the 21st for our bi-weekly service
project in Santa Ana .
Last month over 500 families received food and prayer at the 3 hours
outreach event. You or your small group can serve from 9AM until 4PM,
helping pack hundreds of bags of groceries during the morning
hours and then helping distribute the food later that afternoon.
Quarterly, you can help host a "craft and game area"
for the children, who sometimes wait in line with their parents for 4
hours, prior to the event. Remember to call us at 800 619-5351 or
contact Dimitri at 714-357-0587 before the Friday of the event to let
us know you are coming.
We
would like to thank the many volunteers from our ministry and
Abundant
Life Church
who have stepped forward by serving and procuring food donations for
the outreach events. An example of this is Becky, who made the effort
to contact her local Vons, which has resulted in a bunch of
bakery items being donated on a re-occurring basis.

Meet Danny, your average high
school kid and his father Bo. This father/son team contacted us about
starting a ministry in Orange County. Their idea for serving came as
result of Danny's good friend being hospitalized. It was during the
time spent visiting him that Danny noticed his friend (and other kids
like him) stuck in hospital beds for extended periods of time that
were "bored to tears". So Danny and his dad
"ponied up" the money to get his friend a handheld PSP game
and that small gesture on their part meant a whole lot to Danny's
friend. It was through this simple act of kindness that God laid it
on their hearts to see if they could provide other kids with the same
enjoyment during an otherwise tough time in their lives. To hear
more of the story or to find out how you can be a part of this
father/son ministry go to: www.wecareforourchildrentoo.com

We would
like to open this months newsletter with some words of
encouragement from the administrator of the Door of Faith
Orphanage, a missionary who knows what it means to "press
on".....
In these uncertain times
it's easy to get distracted by the things considered important in
this world; financial issues, our houses, our perceived
security. It's important to realize who and what we're called
to be working for. To invest and work in God's kingdom, God's
economy, God's priorities, this is what we have been called to
do. This is where the true rewards in this life and the next
life are found.
"So we fix our eyes not on
what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians
4:18
On behalf of the children
in Baja being served by Strong Tower Ministries, I want to thank
all of those working together on what is unseen. We sweat and work
on the physical, knowing we are working on the eternal. We
are working together as one body on what lasts.
"For we
are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians
2:10
In Christ,
DJ Schuetze

The month of February saw a
collection of groups from all over Southern California pitching in
on the Nursery building effort. Groups from Anaheim Vineyard, Point
Loma Nazaene University, Club Dust, Saddleback Church, and
Mountain View Community Church all made one day or weekend serving
trips down. Concrete was mixed and poured "bucket
brigade" style for hours on end. Although the monthly schedule
was hampered by some wet weather, we still managed to pour almost
half of the second story flooring. Please consider joining us
on March 14th, 21st, and 28th, as we look to finish the floor and
start on the second story walls! Please continue to pray
that God provides the 30,000 dollars needed to complete the Phase 1
portion of the project and that a material donor is found for
the doors and windows the nursery is in need
of.

Following a hard day of work
on the Nursery, the kids from Point Loma Nazarene University got
the chance to take on the DOF kids in a soccer game. The score
would have been close, if it weren't for the "goalie" the
college kids picked (no naming names).

What you are not seeing is
a scene from FIREPROOF. This is what actually took place on the
night of the March 1st screening of HEARING EVERETT outside a
theatre in Stockton, CA. As the evening was winding down, the fire
department entered the theatre and announced that the building was
being evacuated. Folks exiting found themselves greeted
with smoke and the street filled with fire trucks and police
cars.
Prior to the evening ending in dramatic
fashion, the sold out theatre enjoyed the film, which was hosted by
Quail Lakes Baptist Church. A special Question and Answer session
with Luke Everett followed the film. One of the questions from the
audience following the screening was, "Why isn't this
movie a nationwide release?" . The answer to that question
is "marketing dollars".
Until we make that special distribution
connection, the best way of marketing this film and small group
series is you. We are counting on you to bring this
film to your church and local community through word of mouth,
email, and purchasing the DVD and Small Group Series to share with
your friends across the United States. We would also love for those
that have seen the film to go to the website at www.hearingeverett.com and leave us a comment or two on
the film and small group series. We're excited to see how
this project has inspired you or your small group into service
whether locally or globally, and to hear the reports of the trips
taken as result of experiencing Hearing Everett.
In other news, Hearing Everett has been
officially selected at both the "Attic Film
Festival" in Austin, TX on March 28 and the Hearts and Minds
Film Festival in Dover, Delaware on April 4th. Make sure to forward
this information to all your friends living near those locations
and encourage them to attend the festivals and support the film.
For more info on the Attic Film Festival go to www.graceartsproject.org and for Hearts and Minds go
to www.heartsandmindsfilm.org. Also, keep checking the event
calendar of the website for upcoming screenings of the film.

Soccer Balls Can Make a
Difference?
There are many dedicated,
and truly amazing groups who are reaching out to children all over
the world trying to address hunger, shelter, poverty, and even
global epidemics like Aids and Genocide. This particular
ministries goal is far more modest. We are trying to raise donation
for sports equipment like soccer balls to send along with these
groups for the children in the villages and orphanages who
otherwise play soccer with a can wrapped in rags.
We have participants working throughout the world and with orphanages
in Northern Mexico, and even a newly forming Soccer league for
"At-Risk" children in Santa Ana who otherwise would spend
their time hiding in the safety of their homes and off the
dangerous streets as there are no organized safe activates for
them.
What we are asking is very
simple, donate your used Soccer equipment to us and we will see
that it gets into the hands (and feet) of children who will
treasure the equipment - balls, hand pumps, inflation needles in
working condition can make such a big difference to a group of
children.
