Kids Graduate Today!
Today is a special day for three students from Ninos De La Promesa (formerly the Purple Palace) We wish to congratulate Edgar, Martin, and Brenda for their completion of Secondary School and their desire to attend the University in the fall. All three kids were at the orphanage when we first met Connie and Tyler Youngkin and began our ministries first construction project over 4 1/2 years ago. Many of you through your prayers and resources have laid the foundation for this day to happen and for that Connie and Tyler, the STM team, and the kids of Ninos de la Promesa say THANK YOU! For those wishing to send a note to pass on the kids you can email Connie and Tyler at tycon_mx@yahoo.com . |
Santa Ana Project
Over the past 2 years, STM has been a witness to thousands of lives being touched in Santa Ana. We have seen the first Saturday when 45 families attended to recently when over 500 families came to receive food, clothing, prayer, medical, legal aid, and to connect with a local church. The outreach started in a parking lot and has now has grown to reach the homeless in other areas of Santa Ana, local church outreaches, and partnering ministries throughout Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties. This ministry project has seen the opening of a free medical clinic, and the addition of several warehouses that store and distribute items both locally and globally (a recent example of this was the over million dollars worth of donated medical supplies sorted and sent to Haiti following the earthquake earlier this year).
The project has grown to the point that it has taken on its own identity and name. A separate non-profit has been formed by STM project manager Dimitri Sirakoff called SERVE THE PEOPLE.
Serve The People hopes to expand the days of operation and add additional specialists and services to the free medical clinic, free legal aid, food pantry and advocacy (housing) programs. It will continue to work closely with the community to determine other basic needs that are currently unavailable or unaffordable to them and thereby add such services to the organization. As a ministry, STM will continue to partner with Serve the People and their ongoing mission.

Nows your chance to begin this journey together and to see how God can use you to raise a children's daycare center from a plot of dirt. October 9th STM Benefit

In case you missed last months newsletter, we unveiled our Oct 9th Living Waters and WetNWild 5K benefit events. We hope you will make plans to join us for a fun-filled day at Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine, CA. The day starts off at 8AM with a 5K run/walk that winds you through the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and WIld Rivers over paved road, hard packed dirt, and grass. This will be an all out blast as you race against the CHIC-FiL-A Cow and attempt to "run" the Lazy River before crossing the finish line. There will be plenty of pre-race and post-race food and festivities,so bring your friends and family to cheer you on.
Following the WetNWild 5K, the waterpark opens between 10AM and 4PM for our
exclusive Living Waters event!
The day will include all of the normal waterpark
attractions, along with:
Worship Venue: Located inside the park, this venue will feature live music from artists Phillip Bardowell, Angel Smythe, Rock Harbor Church Youth Bands, O.Y.I.E. Music, and many more. You will also hear from several featured guest speakers that will appear on stage throughout the day.
Ministry Fair: Adjacent to the Worship Venue will be the Ministry Fair. This venue will showcase dozens of ministries from Southern California and Baja, Mexico, that you or your youth group can connect with. You will also get a chance to interact with students from local Christian universities and Church youth groups from around the Southland.
Prayer and Baptism Venues: We plan on taking full advantage of the abundance of water, so whether you show up with your youth Pastor having made the decision to be baptized or decide while you're at the event, you will have the opportunity to make a special day even more special.
For groups traveling from out of town to attend we have special room rates available through Doubletree Hotel that will provide shuttle service to and from the waterpark and is located down the street from the Irvine Spectrum. So whether it's a great outreach opportunity you're looking for, or just a family fun day, LIVING WATERS will be the place to be.
SO HOW DO I MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
Get the word out and get those tickets sold.
Tell your youth pastor, school activities coordinator, or boss about the events and start making plans for your group or family to attend. Or direct folks to the websites and email us with their contact info and we will be happy to follow up with a phone call or meet with them to fill in all the details.
Become a Sponsor.
Help offset the costs of the event by becoming a sponsor. Entitlement packages are available by email or we will meet with you or your company to discuss becoming a sponsoring partner. There are also opportunities to "sponsor a child for the day" which will allow a less fortunate child the opportunity to have a day at the waterpark.
Make it a Fundraiser for your school or ministry.
We are offering, for those wanting to really get behind the effort, the opportunity to sell tickets to Living Waters and receive proceeds back to be used for their own upcoming youth mission trips, school programs, ministry projects, or cause.
Become a Volunteer.
We need over 200 volunteers to assist in making these events a success. Areas we could use help in include the following: spending some time on the phones contacting churches and schools, distributing posters and fliers to local businesses, helping out at the 5k, volunteering at the prayer tent, worship venue, ministry fair, or one of the many other venues on the day of the event.
