Hearing Everett Gala Event Fundraiser Report!
Thanks to all of you who supported the Hearing Everett film project by purchasing tickets and silent auction items, attending the event, or just lifting up the evening in prayer. The event was a huge success with 300 people attending and over $17,000 dollars raised. A special thank you goes out to all our contributors that donated so many fantastic silent auction items! It was great to have the Everett family in attendance, hear from Luke Everett and the film's writer and director T.C. Johnstone, and enjoy the food and fellowship together. We also wish to extend our gratitude to the Curtain Call Dinner Theatre (which is owned and operated by Main Place Christian Fellowship Church) for allowing us to host our fundraising event at their venue, the meal and show was terrific! |
The initial stage of construction on the Door of Faith nursery continues, with electrical and foundational work underway. Even though the construction is scheduled to commence in earnest in March, we are still looking for qualified volunteers who can make one or two day trips down to the orphanage, to assist with the foundational, rough in electrical and plumbing placement, which is necessary before the foundation can be poured. Steve Hibler, project manager, was on site last weekend and reports that work is progressing nicely. If you, your work buddies, or your small group have the skills to pitch in, please email Steve directly at steve@strongtowerministries.info . For specific construction questions you can reach Sonny at sscott@isc-gc.com . As always, you can go to the ministry website to check the event calendar for specific dates on when stuff is happening. |

Rancho Sordo Mudo
The final full week of filming at the Ranch for the feature film took place January 14th-21st. It was a special week for the volunteers and crew because we spent time in Ensenada interviewing graduate students from the Ranch, and at the Ranch interviewing staff and volunteers. Each one was a testimony to how God is working through the lives of people willing to serve to effect change for the deaf community. With only a few production dates remaining, the film is almost "a wrap", and the gears are shifting focus into post production and study guide development. Thanks to your efforts, we have funded almost 120,000 of the necessary 200,000 budget for the film, and we are steadfast that God will continue to provide what is needed for its completion. We would like to thank the efforts of countless volunteers who have sacrificed their time, their talents, and their resources to make this project happen. |

DOF "Tiles of Love" Fundraising Project
To date, the DOF fundraising project has raised almost 4000 dollars! What a great way to contribute to the construction of this nursery by adding a special touch that you, your small group, or one the children of the Door of Faith has handmade to be displayed in the entry courtyard. For those of you who have purchased a tile and are awaiting the "Gala Tile Decorating Event" we promise to have a date selected and announced shortly. To get more information on the fundraiser or download a flier you can hand out, visit the ministry website at www.strongtowerministries.info and go to the "OUR PROJECTS" page, then click onto the Door of Faith. |

Purple Palace
Our ministry goal for the Purple Palace this year is to make sure we have food being delivered on a weekly basis to the orphanage. To accomplish this, we need volunteers who are will to make food pick-up and food drops from either the Los Angeles or San Diego areas. All funds received for the Purple Palace project will go directly into purchasing food for the kids and staff. If you, your small group, or your church or work would like to sponsor enough food for a two week period this year, please contact Jason at 858 344-9134 for more information on items needed or costs associated. Anybody interested in painting some doors or doing a "spring cleaning" at the orphanage can contact Mark, project manager, at blessdpapa@yahoo.com . | |

Passports?? Do I NEED ONE??
The latest on the passport situation is that you are not required to have a passport traveling into and out of Mexico by land until sometime this summer 2008, but you are now required to carry a copy of your birth certificate, along with a valid form of identification. For up to the minute updates, you can go to the Department of Homeland Security for more information. |
