December 2008

Vol 3, Issue 43

Dear John & Tammy Clinton ,

December is the "Advent"' season, which comes from the Latin word meaning "arrival".  The verb form is "I am coming" or "I arrive".  It of course refers to Emmanuel, God with us, Jesus come to earth! In the midst of seismic shakes in our economy, world events, and state and national politics, we can rest securely in the Rock!  Jesus has come!  And just as surely, He will come again!

On behalf of Strong Tower Ministries we want to thank you for your interest in serving others in His name and wish that you will find comfort, stability, and joy in the Lord during this Advent season.

Santa Ana Outreach-3santa ana hispanic girl

Every first and third Saturday of the month we assist a local Santa Ana church in hosting an outreach event for families living in the communty.

During these outreach Saturdays, families needs are met both spiritually and physically. On the 20th, we are incorporating a "surprise" Christmas party for the children. Volunteers are needed between the hours of 10AM-4PM. Folks are needed  to help distribute groceries, clothing, household items, pray, run some "fun stuff" for the kids, etc.

We still have a list of about 15 items we need in order to make this a special party! If you would like to donate items or are able to help before or on the day of the event, please contact Tracey Kirk-Johnson at 949 842-3655 or email her at Tracey@familyhomeloans.net

Hearing Everett Awarded a "5 Dove" Rating by the Dove Foundation

dove award

Since 1990, the mission of the Dove Foundation has been to encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption
of wholesome family entertainment. Dick Rolfe, Co-Founder & CEO of the Dove Foundation believes that "It's time for positive family values to impact those in Hollywood instead of Hollywood impacting family values". In November, Hearing Everett was awarded the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal, along with receiving a "Five Dove", the highest rating given. The film was also featured on the home page of their website durung the month of November.

Baja Mexico Food Distribution a Huge Success

Its because of people like you that during the month of November over 32,000 pounds of food was distributed to over 12 ministries operating in Baja Mexico . The ministries varied from local churches, to orphanages, to a deaf school for children, and even an adult care center for people infected with the HIV/AIDS virus. We have received multiple emails from these ministries asking us to convey their sincere gratitude to all of you.

We would also like to thank our assisting partners from GAIN, Convoy of Hope, PODS, Corazon De Vida, and Christian Life Assembly and Saddleback Churches for their participation in the project.

"FUN COUNTS TOO" Project

Strong Tower Ministry exists to be a conduit for folks wanting to serve and to get plugged in to serving opportunities. God has laid it on the hearts of a local father and son team to do just that.  Having been involved in serving trips over the years, this duo realized a need as simple as providing a soccer ball to kids in situations where "rocks" or "cans" were all they had.   Their mission is to make a difference by approaching local sports equipment outlets and asking for donated items that will be provided to kids abroad, as well in our own backyard.
