Volunteer Event Planned for Sept 26-27th in Santa Ana, Ca
STM and FEED
MY STARVING CHILDREN have partnered for a 100,000 meal packing event.
FMSC is responsibe for feeding over 80 MILLION meals yearly worldwide
to destitute children and families, and it happens because of people
like you.
This is a
great opportunity for the whole family, youth group, company, or
small group to join together to make a difference. The event will
involve churches and organizations from all throughout
California.  And for just
17 cents you can add one extra meal to that 100,000 total. Now is the
time to start spreading the word and reserve a spot! The event
will be hosted at the Santa Ana Project warehouse in Santa Ana
(5FWY/17th ST) and we are looking for folks to commit to a two hour
shift minimum.

minute DVD presentation is available that will let you see firsthand
how 2 hours of your time can and will make a difference.

60 Volunteers Result in
23,000 Pounds of Love- People Helping People
Can 1 donor, 1 semi-truck,
and 60 local men, women, and children make a difference in a hurting
world? Just ask the hundreds of children and families in Baja,
Mexico who this weekend will be receiving thousands of pounds of much
needed food. How do you connect the dots on something like this?
Simple.
First, just have a certain
donor in Sacramento, Ca be willing to donate over 22,000 pounds of
rice for starters. Then you have organizations like Global AId
Network and Gleanings orchestrate procuring the donation. Then you
have a ministry in San Diego called Hilarious Givers partner with a
trucking outfit with big hearts who are willing to transport the
donation from the San Juaquin Valley to San Diego at no cost. But
before the rice can make it to San Diego, Ca it needs to make a stop
in Santa Ana, Ca where 60 volunteers will step up for two
evenings of working to pack the 2,200 pound rice containers into
something a little more manageable for the folks on the receiving
end. From there the rice goes to San Diego, then to Baja, Mexico,
where over 7 different Mexican churches and other Christian
organizations will be responsible for feeding over 25 orphanages, a
school for deaf children, a community of migrant farm workers, and
families living in cardboard along the railroad tracks of Tijuana.
That's THOUSANDS of lives, all of whom, receive not only much
needed physical nourishment, but more importantly, spiritual
nourishment.
Simple. For HIM.

of Fine Dining, Music & Fellowship, featuring a benefit
concert performance by Saddleback Church's own Leah
Shafer and Mike
Wallace. Other highlights of the evening to include a
Gourmet Meal, Silent Auction, and Keynote Address delivered by Hilda Pacheco, Founder of Corazon De Vida.
The event will be held at the Rancho Santa Margarita Bell Tower in
the William Lyons Homes Ballroom.
Proceeds
of the event will go toward the completion of the Door of Faith
Nursery Project.
Cost
for the event is $100.00 per plate, a portion of which is tax
deductible. Tickets are on sale now and seating is limited to 250
persons, so don't delay! Make sure to indicate folks you would like
to be seated with (tables of 10, perfect for your small group....)

In March of 2008, the Santa
Ana Project kicked off one Saturday morning with 45 families
showing up to receive prayer and a couple bags of groceries.  Since then, the event has
grown into 2 Saturdays a month serving 300-800 families. In
addition to groceries, clothing, shoes, and household items were
added. This month will see the opening of a Saturday
free medical clinic. It will be at the same site as the feeding
outreach and will be operational during the event, as well as other
Saturdays of the month.
